So I Guess the Virus Just Left?

It’s been a week now since my home state of Utah decided to prematurely lift our mask mandate and, now that it’s not required, suddenly it seems that 30-40% of people just stopped wearing masks entirely. Some businesses have even taken down their plexiglass dividers. What the hell?

If you aren’t familiar with my state, it is very religious here with the dominant faith, like most of the United States, being some form of Christianity, and with the dominant sect here being the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, aka LDS, aka Mormons.

I myself am “ex-Mo.”

Now maybe my years of atheism have twisted my memory, but I was under the impression that one of the core tenets of Christianity was to care about your neighbor.

Not a whole lot of that going around right now.
